Freud was a psychologist who has given the psychoanalytic theory of personality development which states that the conflict between three fundamental structures of humankind helps in the development of personality. These three fundamental structures are id, ego, and superego.
According to him to reduce anxiety, get rid of punishments, and maintain parents live and affection, children internalize their standards of wrong and right and form the ego. According to him, the ego balances the drive of id and superego.
