PLEASE HELP ME QUICK what is the simplified form of x+9/x+1 + x-2/5?

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

C and D are both wrong for the same reason. The denominator should be (x +1)*5 which means that either A or B is correct.

C and D have an error seldom seen on Brainly. It means that the denominator has been added rather than multiplied but even the addition is a little strange. Frankly, I don't know what has to be done to get either of them.

So the answer is

numerator: 5*(x + 9) + (x + 1)(x - 2)

denominator: 5*(x + 1)

Simplify the numerator. Remove the brackets.

numerator: 5x + 45 + x^2 - 2x + x - 2 Gather like terms

numerator: x^2 + 5x - 2x + x + 43 Simplify

numerator: x^2 + 4x + 43

Answer

x^2 + 4x + 43

==========

5(x + 1)

Find the slope of the line y = -7/6x - 8/3.
Nezavi [6.7K]

Hello!

This equation is written in slope-intercept form.

Slope-intercept form is y = mx + b, where m is the slope and y is the y-intercept.

Since the coefficient -7/6 is multiplied with x, the slope (or m) has to equal to -7/6.

Therefore, the slope of the line is -7/6.

Answer:

As per dot plots we see the distribution of prices is close but majority of prices are concentrated in different zones. So MAD would be more similar by the look.

Let's verify

Neighborhood 1

Data

  • 55, 55, 60, 60, 70, 80, 80, 80, 90, 120

Mean

  • (55*2+ 60*2+ 70+ 80*3 + 90+ 120)/10 = 75

MAD

  • (20*2+15*2+5+5*3+15+45)/10 = 15

Neighborhood 2

Data

  • 100, 110, 110, 110, 120, 120, 120, 140, 150, 160

Mean

  • (100 + 110*3+ 120*3+ 140 + 150+ 160)/10 = 124

MAD

  • (24+14*3+4*3+16*3+16+26+36)/10 = 20.4

As we see the means are too different (75 vs 124) than MADs (15 vs 20.4).

Change x + 2y = 6 into slope-intercept form.
mart [117]

Answer:

The slope intercept form involves solving for y, such that the equation looks like this: y = mx + b, where m is a constant representing the slope of the line, and b is a constant representing the value of the y-intercept.

Starting with the equation x+2y=6 and subtracting x from both sides gives 2y = -x + 6.

If we then divide each term by 2, we get the final result of y = -1/2x + 3.

Here we see that the slope (m) is equal to -1/2, and the y-intercept (b) is 3.
