The tropical forest have well developed capony  as the they receive enormous amount of rainfall which increases the productivity of the forest. Due to dense canopies, the reach of sunlight with in the tropical forest  is just 10% of the total sunlight falling on it.  

During the dry season, when the leaves fall from the trees, the canopy density reduces which allows adequate amount of sunlight to reach the ground.  

Hence, the given statement is false

I believe that is false. The canopy can block 95% of the light. I might be wrong about which kind of forest though.
