8. A number whose fifth part is increased by 5 is equal to its fourth part diminished by 5 . find the number

the number = X

fifth part = X/5

fifth part is increased by 5 = X/5 + 5

fourth part = X/4

fourth part diminished by 5 = X/4 - 5

fifth part is increased by 5 is equal to its fourth part diminished by 5

X/5 + 5 = X/4 - 5

X/5 - X/4 =  - 5 - 5

(4X - 5X)/20 =  - 10

- X/20 =  - 10

X =  200

Check:

X/5 + 5 = X/4 - 5

200/5 + 5 = 200/4 - 5

40 + 5 = 50 - 5

45 = 45

How do linear and exponential functions compare over time?
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

Exponential Functions

In linear functions, rate of change is constant: as x goes up, y will go up a consistent amount. In exponential functions, the rate of change increases by a consistent multiplier—it will never be the same, but there will be a pattern.

ANSWER QUICK!!! IM TAKING A TEST AND I WILL MARK BRAINLIEST!!!
gtnhenbr [62]

Answer:

C = 5Q

Step-by-step explanation:

C = Length of Cloth in Meters (C)

Q = Number of Quilts Made (Q)

C = 5Q

Change C for the numbers under (Length of Cloth in Meters (C))
Nad change Q for the numbers under (Number of Quilts Made (Q))

So the new equations would be:

0 = 5(0) --------->  0 = 0

5 = 5(1) ---------> 5 = 5

10 = 5(2) ---------> 10 = 10

15 = 5(3) ---------> 15 = 15

20 = 5(4) ---------> 20 = 20

25 = 5(5) ---------> 25 = 25

So the only option that amkes sense is (C = 5Q)
