In a direct democracy (Athens) pure democracy  people decide on initiatives , where people met in a place to physically assemble and decide laws directly.

<em>Citizens were gathered to take into their account the decision to be carried in the public affairs.</em>

<em>This is the origin of democracy and was only limited to Greek citizens who were of a particular kind and political and economic status.</em>

Indirect democracies are the present models tracing back to the Greek ideals however:

Indirect democracy requieres institutions,  where people assigns candidates who wil then work  in Congress representing us.

Since in direct election a choosing of office holders are direcly cast by the people, and indirect democracy decision making only is possible by the people who represent the majority of the citizenship (Congressman, President,etc)

in an indirect democracy  with an election, the voters elect a body which in turn elects the officeholders in question.
