To solve this problem we will use the concepts related to constructive interference. This occurs when the maxima of two waves add together (the two waves are in phase), so that the amplitude of the resulting wave is equal to the sum of the individual amplitudes.

<em>NOTE: For the special case I will take the variable formulated in the statement as the wavelength "O", under the international nomenclature "λ" (Lambda)</em>

The ray 1 and 2 both reflect from denser medium. So both will be in phase and applying the physics concepto about constructive interference we have that

\Delta x = m\lambda_0

Where,

m = Integer which represent the number of repetition of the spectrum

\lambda =Wavelength

At the same time we have that the relation between the first wavelength and the wavelength at oil medium is given as,

\lambda_0 = \frac{\lambda}{n_{oil}}

For yellow \lambda = 660nm, there is constructive interference then,

\Delta x = 2t = \frac{m\lambda}{n_{oil}}

t = {m\lambda}{2n_{oil}}

As \lambda is equal to O and the order of the interference is m=1, then we have that

t = {(1)O}{2n_{oil}}

t = \frac{O}{2n_{oil}}

Therefore the correct answer is D.

Which of the following are characteristics of good experimental design? Check all that apply.
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

The correct answer will be-

1. Allows scientists to replicate experiments

2. Tests only one variable at a time

3. Plans how to record data so they can be published

Explanation:

A scientific experiment is performed to test the hypothesis which represents the limited explanation of the phenomenon.

The experiment is designed in a way that it test one variable at a time like the growth of plants. The experiment must be designed in a way that it can be replicated to reduce the error and repeated by other scientific persons to support the experiment. The design includes the plan for recording the results as it is one of the steps of the scientific method.

Thus, the selected options are the correct answer.

Controlled experiment is the type of experiment that involves changing only one variable at a time. Controlled experiment is subtly defined as an experiment which holds everything constant except one particular variable. This type of experiment allows only one variable to ever change at a given time

A flywheel with a radius of 0.200m starts from rest and accelerates with a constant angular acceleration of 0.900rad/s2.
kobusy [5.1K]

Answer:

The magnitude of the radial acceleration is 0.754 rad/s²

Explanation:

Given;

radius of the flywheel, r = 0.2 m

initial angular velocity of the flywheel, \omega_i = 0

angular acceleration of the flywheel, a = 0.900 rad/s².

angular distance, θ = 120⁰

the angular distance in radian = \frac{120}{180} \pi = \frac{2 \pi}{3}  \ rad

Apply the following kinematic equation to determine the final angular velocity;

\omega _f^2 = \omega _i ^2 + 2\alpha \theta\\\\\omega _f^2 = 0 + 2(0.9)(\frac{2\pi}{3} )\\\\\omega _f^2 = 3.7699\\\\\omega _f = \sqrt{ 3.7699} \\\\ \omega _f = 1.942 \ rad/s

The magnitude of the radial acceleration is calculated as;

\alpha _r = \omega ^2r\\\\\alpha _r  = (1.942)^2 (0.2)\\\\\alpha _r  =0.754 \ rad/s^2

Therefore, the magnitude of the radial acceleration is 0.754 rad/s²

When you multiply (2.2500x10^3) x (3.00 x10^5) =675,000,000 report this answer to decimal using scientific notation
zavuch27 [327]

Answer:

6.75\times 10^{8}

Explanation:

(2.2500x10^3) x (3.00 x10^5)

First add the power values since all are to power 10 hence this will be 3+5=8

Then multiply the digit intergers ie 2.25*3=6.75

Therefore, in scientific notation this will be represented as 6.75\times 10^{8}

According to Coulomb’s Law, the force between two charged objects is related to _____.
Natasha_Volkova [10]

Answer:

A.) the inverse of the square of the distance separating them

Explanation:

Coulombs law states that "the force of attraction between two charges is directly proportional to the product of the charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them."

Mathematically, F = kq1q2/r²

Where q1 and q2 are the charges

r is the distance between the charges.

According to the law, the force between two charged objects is related to the inverse of the square of the distance separating them.
