<em>Latchkey condition is the situation where the child was being alone without being supervised by his or her parents / guardians. It was originated in 1950's wherein parents must leave their house to work leaving only a key for their children so they could enter the house freely after studying from school. Kids ages from 5 to 13 are normally involved in this situation. </em>
