Consecutive odd numbres are 2 apart
they numbers are x and x+2
square of first plus 3 times 2nd is 24
first is x
2nd is x+2

x²+3(x+2)=24
easy
x²+3x+6=24
minus 24 both sides
x²+3x-18=0
factor
(x+6)(x-3)=0
set to ezr
x+6=0
x=-6
false, this is even
x-3=0
x=3
x+2=5

the numbers are  3 and 5
9+15=24, yah

3 and 5 are numbers

So your equation would be (x)squared + 3(x+2) = 24
simplify:
xsq + 3x + 6 = 24
xsq + 3x - 18 = 0
if we broke this down into multiplication, one of the multiplying factors would have to equal zero since the whole now equals 0 so,
(x+6)(x-3) = 0
so, x+6 = 0, or x-3 = 0
solve:
x = -6, or 3

then  just choose the odd one

The diagram below shows the dimensions of a triangular park built in a new housing development. Two side lengths and one angle m
evablogger [386]
ANSWER

x = 50.5 \degree

EXPLANATION

We use the sine rule for solving triangles.

This is given by the formula,

\frac{ \sin(A) }{a}  =  \frac{ \sin(B) }{b}  = \frac{ \sin(C) }{c}

From the triangle,

\frac{ \sin(x) }{60}  =  \frac{ \sin(40) }{50}

We multiply both sides of the equation by 60 to get,

sin(x)  =  \frac{ 60\sin(40 \degree) }{50}

sin(x)  = 0.7713

We solve for x to obtain,

x = arcsin(0.7713)

x = 50.475

To the nearest tenth, we round to one decimal place to get,

x = 50.5 \degree

What is the height, in yards, of a cylindrical water tank that holds 1,884 cubic yards of water and has a diameter of 120 feet?
mafiozo [28]

Answer:

The height of the tank is 0.5 yards.

Step-by-step explanation:

To determine what is the height, in yards, of a cylindrical water tank that holds 1,884 cubic yards of water and has a diameter of 120 feet, knowing that the volume of a cylinder is equal to pi multiplied by the radius squared, multiplied by the height, the following calculation must be done:

1 foot = 0.3333 yards

R = Diameter / 2

R = 120/2 = 60

3.14 x 60 ^ 2 x H = 1,884

3.14 x 3,600 x H = 1,884

3.14 x 1,200 x H = 1,884

3.768 x H = 1.884

H = 1,884 / 3,768

H = 0.5

Therefore, the height of the tank is 0.5 yards.

2{ 5[12+5 (500 - 100)+399]}
notsponge [240]

This is solved by breaking the equasion down.

2 { 5 [12 + 5 (500 - 100) + 399 ]}

2 { 5 [12 + 5 (400) + 399]}

2 { 5 [12 + 2000 + 399]}

2 { 5 [2411]}
