Okay you use this equation for point-slope form. m=y2-y1 / x2-x1 m is what most have agreed to be the variable for slope so that’s what I’ll use. So with the two points you have you have 2 x’s and 2 y’s. All you have to do is just assign (give) a 1 or a 2 to each point, you’re basically labeling them to make it easier on you later. You NEED to make sure that for one point you put down both the x and the y for the same number. You can’t have x1 and y2 for the same point.
Now that we got that out of the way, let’s label them. (-5,4) —> (x1,y1) (1,6) —> (x2,y2).
