Combining like terms with negative coefficients

−n+(−4)−(−4n)+6
Serjik [45]
Remember, if you add negative four, you're really subtracting four, or if you take away negative four, you're really adding four.

-n+(-4)-(-4n)+6
-n-4+4n+6 simplify
{-n+4n are like terms, so combine them. -n+4n is exactly the same as 4n-n, so flip them around if it helps. Just remember to keep the sign with the right number. Same thing with -4+6.}

Answer:

3n+2

4 in.
5 in.
6 in.
I
Colt1911 [192]
What is the exact question? It seems like you are asking for the Pythagorean theorem. Ok, I’ll try to help if that’s the case.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2
4^2 + 5^2 = c^2
16 + 25 = c^2
41 =c^2
6.403124237432849 = c

So now since we have the answer, we need to figure out if this result and 6 are equal.

6^2 = 36

25 + 16 = 41

41 and 36 are not equivalent so if the case is that u want me to find the Pythagorean theorem, then the answer is that they aren’t equal. And the real answer is that c equals 6.403124237432849. Which means that 4in, 5in, 6in is not the correct order. And that 16in, 25, 41 is the correct order.

I hope this helped!

Vertex A in quadrilateral ABCD lies at (-3, 2). If you rotate ABCD 180° clockwise about the origin, what will be the coordinates
Leni [432]

Answer:

A. (3, -2)

Step-by-step explanation:

A 180° rotation about the origin places an object in the quadrant diagonal to the one it started in. Moving the object two 90° turns, will place it in a coordinate that will make the values of 'x' and 'y' opposite to the initial value. In this case, vertex A has an initial point of (-3, 2), so after a 180° rotation, it would be (3, -2).
