There are two different causes for the breakdown of medieval society, one of which, is that the Nobles didn't trust each other and petty jealousies arose. The other is that Nobles were the only ones to own land. The new middle-class merchants, made wealthy by trade, now questioned the authority of the landholders. The freed serfs also moved to large cities to work in factories or to become involved in trade. Medieval life and the feudal system it had fostered began to break down.

Type of government where citizens elect leaders to represent them in government
aev [14]
I would choose "representative democracy" as the best answer- this is the most typical example for what you described

Some other forms would also qualify in some cases, for example The Vatican city (Theocracy and absolute ?monarchy?) also has an elective leader, albeit for life.

but "representative democracy" is best.

Examples of representative democracy: US, Germany, UK.

Judge Jones is using legal realism school of jurisprudence.

The philosophical school, historical school, realist school, sociological school, and analytical school are the five schools of jurisprudence.

Legal realism is a theory according to which public policy and prevailing social interests are the sources of all law. In accordance with this view, judges decide cases by taking into account social concerns and public policy in addition to abstract norms.

Legal realism is a kind of jurisprudence that places more emphasis on the law's application in daily life than it does in books. To this purpose, it focused primarily on the acts of judges and the variables that affected judicial decision-making processes.
