In 4 days he spends 1/5 of his money
to find unit amount per day
1/5 divided by 4
which equals 1/20
kyle spends 1/20 of his total money per day
so after 14 days, he has spent 14/20 of his money
20/20-14/20=6/20 or the amount of money he has left
6/20=$30
if 6/20=$30, then 1/20 equals $5 (30/6)
if 1/20 of Kyles money= $5
5*20= $100
kyle started with $100

4 days spending equal amounts so if x is how much he spends per day and y is the original amount then 4x=1/5y bc he has 4/5 left meaning what he spent was 1/5 of the original and after 10 more days which was 14 total he spent all but 30 so the total minus 30 will be how much kyle spent so
14x=y-30 which is y=(14x+30) and substitute that in for y in 4x=1/5y so 4x=1/5 (14x+30)
20x=14x+30
6x=30
x=5 and plug that in either of the original equations 4(5)=1/5y
y=100
so he had $100 and spent $5 per day

Kim caught a fish that was 9/10 of a meter long. Doug caught a fish that was 2/3 as long as kim's fish
MA_775_DIABLO [31]

Kim caught a fish that was 9/10 of a meter long. Doug caught a fish that was 2/3 as long as Kim's fish. So, Doug caught a fish that was 3/5 meters long.

What is the fundamental principle of multiplication?

If an event can occur in m different ways and if following it, a second event can occur in n different ways, then the two events in succession can occur in m × n different ways

Kim caught a fish that was 9/10 of a meter long. Doug caught a fish that was 2/3 as long as Kim's fish.

Kim caught a fish of length = 9/10 m

Doug caught a fish of length = 2/3 as long as Kim's fish.

                                                 = 2/3 x 9/10

                                                 = 18 / 30

                                                 = 3/5

Thus, Doug caught a fish that was 3/5 meters long.

Find two consecutive whole numbers that square root 97 lies between
lora16 [44]

Answer: 9 and 10

Step-by-step explanation:

To understand this question we need to first understand how to solve square root equations! The easiest way to learn how to solve square root problems is by finding the reverse of the problem.

For example, if you tried to find the square root of 25, you would reverse the problem to do 5^2 = 5 x 5 = 25.

So if we were to implement this problem, we would look at these two whole numbers.

9^2 = 9 x 9 = 81

10^2 = 10 x 10 = 100

Thus meaning that the only two numbers that the square root of 97 lies between can be 9 and 10!

It's important to rely on your knowledge of multiplication to develop a strong base for square roots.
