It is 30 because they both go cleanly into 30 and 60 but 30 is less 3*10=30 and 6*5=30

The first step here is to arrange the data set's form least to greatest,

Sherelle:  26, 39, 56, 58, 60, 62, 65, 66, 66, 68, 71, 72, 72, 73, 74, 75, 81, 83, 84, 85

Venita:  44, 45, 51, 51, 53, 53, 55, 57, 58, 62, 65, 66, 69, 69, 70, 73, 75, 77, 78, 79

Now we can determine our 5 - number summary based on the numbers respective positions.

First Data Set,

(Five - Number Summary) - Minimum : 26, Quartile 1 : 60, Median : 69.5, Quartile 3 : 75, Maximum : 85

Second Data Set,

(Five - Number Summary) - Minimum : 44, Quartile 1 : 53, Median : 63.5, Quartile 3 : 73, Maximum : 79

What is the equation in slope intercept form of the line that passes through the point (2,-2) and is perpendicular to the line b
Gala2k [10]

Answer:

y= - 5/2x - 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Y=2/5x + 2

Making it perpendicular, the slope will change to it's reciprocal and swap operations (+ becomes -). 2/5 will be -5/2. We already know the y-intercept which is -2, so simply put, the equation in slope-intercept form is y = -5/2x - 2

Robin is standing on the top of a 40-foot flagpole at 1 p.m. At the same time, a 4-foot child on the ground casts a shadow of le
Kobotan [32]

Answer:

1.2 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

We can use ratio's to solve this problem. Put the item on top, and the shadow on the bottom

40 ft flagpole 4 ft child

--------------------- = --------------------

x ft shadow .8 ft shadow

Using cross products

40 * .8 = 4x

32 = 4x

Divide each side by 4

32/4 = 4x/4

8 = x

The flag pole casts an 8 ft shadow

The question asks how much longer is the shadow of the flagpole and Robin than the flagpole? In other words, how long is Robins shadow

40 ft flagpole       6ft  Robin

--------------------- = --------------------

8 ft shadow x ft shadow

Using cross products

40 *x = 6*8

40x = 48

Divide by 40

40x/40 = 48/40

x = 1.2

Elena and Jada are 12 miles apart on a path when they start moving towards each other Elena runs at a constant speed of 5 miles
gulaghasi [49]
If you really want to figure this out you make an equation to solve for the time
let's let
x = time from Elena to Jada and
x = time from Jada to Elena
12 then the equation
12 = 5x +3x
would help figuring out their distance say for one of them
12 = x(5+3)
12/8 = x
1.5 = x
