The Reconstruction tried to generate opportunities to end the segregation between white Americans and African Americans in the Southern States by giving them job opportunities and voting rights so they could be elected into important political roles.

During the Reconstruction African Americans were able to enjoy family bonds and tried to make a way for former slaves buying land to cultivate.

The problem was that the way Reconstruction was imposed created a brutal reaction in southern whites, that believed that they were stripped of their liberty, because of that many became committed to keeping blacks in a subservient position. With the election of President Johnson Reconstruction changed and the land was returned to white landowners which avoided land redistribution in the South.

The sharecropping system was a way of maintaining those ex-slaves and African Americans dependent on the landowners, it limited economic development and ensured that the South remained an agricultural location.

As we can see, the Reconstruction fell short of accomplishing its objectives because at the end it caused resentment in the Southern states, which backfired in the Black Codes and the creation of a series of white supremacy groups.

A major problem with the 1876 Texas Constitution was that it ______________.
kari74 [83]

Answer:

The answer is D

Explanation:

The article on education drastically changed the system established by the Republicans in 1869. In the first section the framers ordered the legislature to establish and make provision for the support and maintenance of an efficient system of public free schools but then added provisions that made that directive impossible. To support the system the article authorized the legislature to levy a poll tax of one dollar on all male inhabitants between the ages of twenty-one and sixty and to appropriate not more than one-fourth of the general revenue. In addition, it set aside as a perpetual fund all proceeds from lands previously granted to the schools, including all the alternate sections of land already reserved for the state or afterwards reserved out of grants to railroads or other corporations (as specified in the Constitution of 1866), and the proceeds from the sale of one-half of all other public lands (as prescribed by an act of the legislature in 1873). The document abolished the office of state superintendent, founded a board of education composed of the governor, comptroller, and secretary of state, eliminated compulsory attendance, provided for segregated schools, and made no provision for local school taxes.

Which strategy did General Robert E. Lee and General Stonewall Jackson use in the Battle of Chancellorsville?
Paraphin [41]
B)They split their small, outnumbered army into two forces.

The Battle of Chancellorsville (April 30 to May 6, 1863) is looked upon as General Robert E. Lee’s greatest Civil War victory for the Confederate side. The Union army was almost twice the size of Lee's Confederate forces. Splitting his troops caught the Union side by surprise.

It was a costly victory for the Confederate side, however. While the Union suffered over 17,000 casualties, Lee's armies also had a high casualty rate of nearly 13,000 men. And one of those casualties was General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson, who was killed by friendly fire in the final stages of the battle.

On which fact does the historical perspective of the two passages differ?
padilas [110]

Answer:

the cause of Otzi's death

Explanation:

We note in the first passage that there's a brief description of the Killer, at least mention was made of the killer thereby giving the reader a sense of what caused Otzi"s death.

However, the second passage uses indirect language to describe not the killer but the sufferings of Otzi, thereby creating a difference in historical perspective on the cause of Otzi's death.
