Answer:

The right way to combine the sentences by turning them into a phrase is the following one:

(D)Icy winds, which blow across Antarctica throughout the year, make the continent seem even colder.

Explanation:

If we want a phrase, all we need is a subject and a predicate. Therefore, by adding the relative pronoun "which" referring to the icy winds we form a more concise phrase with a subject (Icy winds,...) and a predicate (...which blow across Antarctica throughout the year, make the continent seem even colder).  It is clear that all that appears after the subject refers to it and its acts, that is, it is said in the phrase that icy winds do two things:

1- they blow across Antarctica throughout the year.

2- they make the continent (Antarctica) seem even colder.

What do each of these quotes mean?<br>
svlad2 [7]

Answer:

"Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln

This means that if you deny freedom to another, you yourself can't have it.

"You may choose to look the other way but you can never say again that you did not know." - William Wilberforce

Honestly, I'm a little confused on this too but I think it means that when you know or see something, you can't run from the fact you do or did.

"You can't hold a man down without staying down with him." - Booker T. Washington.

This is a quote Booker T. Washington made about Respect. If you think about it, it kind of opens a new door on what the quote might mean.

I think it means to push another down, you need to push yourself down as well. You can't keep them down and walk above them, as all people are equal.

I hope this helped! Have a great week.

What does the cat in the golden cat symbolize
shepuryov [24]
In this poem Golden Cat, the sun symbolises the colour of the cat's fur, which is shining brightly. The sun also symbolises the provision of light apart from the other distinct functions that it possesses. The representation done by the animal is towards the sun which makes the fur shine.
