If you want to see something in fine detail, you should focus the light the cornea. The lens works together with the cornea to focus light correctly on retina.

When light hit on retina special cells called photo receptors turn the light into electrical signals. The lens are the clear part of eyes behind the iris that help to focus light and image on retina to see something clearly.Lens is the important part of eye when it comes to focusing light so that we can see perfect clear image.

The retina is the most sensitive part which can effect by more light because retina convert incoming light into electrical impulse.
