Answer:

181 penguins on the last day of June.

250th penguin on 7 September.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that in the book 365 Penguins, the family received a new penguin each day. They received their first penguin on January 1st and this pattern continued throughout this non-leap year.

First of all we need to find number of days in January to June.

January has 31 days, February has 28 days (Not a leap year), March has 31 days, April has 30 days, May has 31 days and June has 30 days.

\text{Days from January to June}=31+28+31+30+31+30

\text{Days from January to June}=181

Since penguin family receives 1 penguin each day, so 181 penguins will be in 181 days.

Therefore, the penguin family will have 181 penguins on the last day of June.

Now, we need to find the day, which will be on 250th day.

We already know that 181st day would be 30th June.

We know that July and August each has 31 days, so we will add 62 days to 181 that is 181+62=243.

243rd day would be 31st August.

Now, we will add 7 days to 243 days to get 250th day.

Since next month to August is September, therefore, the family will receive 250th penguin on 7 September.

Suppose $TIP$ and $TOP$ are isosceles triangles. Also suppose that $TI=5,$ $PI=7,$ and $PO=11$.
Roman55 [17]

Answer:

18

Step-by-step explanation:

If TP = 7, then TO can be 7 or 11 to make the triangle isosceles.

If TP = 5, then TO can 5 or 11

Stop right there, though! Your logic is correct, but TO cannot be 5! Why? Triangles have certain properties that they must adhere to for a triangle to exist. One such theorem is called the triangle inequality theorem. It states that the sum of the lengths of two different sides is greater than the remaining third side.

The other side length possibilities adhere to this restriction, thankfully. Now, add 7 and 11.  7+11=18
