Answer: 80 pieces of fruit

Explanation:
Let’s find out the amount of trees Mr Champion has.
He has 14 in total. 1 apple tree and 1 plum tree, and the rest are divided evenly among apricot, pear and peach trees. This means:
1 apple tree + 1 plum tree = 2 trees
14 - 2 = 12 trees
12 / 3 (varieties of trees) = 4
In conclusion, he has
1 apple tree, 1 plum tree, 4 apricot, pear and peach trees.

Now let’s go to the section where he picks the fruit.
6 apricots from 4 trees
10 peaches from 4 trees
3 pears from 4 trees
4 apples from 1 tree

This means:
(6 x 4) + (10 x 4) + (3 x 4) + (4 x 1) = total pieces of fruit picked

24 + 40 + 12 + 4 = total pieces of fruit picked

Now, you add up those four numbers, and you have your answer, 80.

Hope this helps!

Use the Divergence Theorem to evaluate S F · dS, where F(x, y, z) = z2xi + y3 3 + sin z j + (x2z + y2)k and S is the top half of
GenaCL600 [577]

Close off the hemisphere S by attaching to it the disk D of radius 3 centered at the origin in the plane z=0. By the divergence theorem, we have

\displaystyle\iint_{S\cup D}\vec F(x,y,z)\cdot\mathrm d\vec S=\iiint_R\mathrm{div}\vec F(x,y,z)\,\mathrm dV

where R is the interior of the joined surfaces S\cup D.

Compute the divergence of \vec F:

\mathrm{div}\vec F(x,y,z)=\dfrac{\partial(xz^2)}{\partial x}+\dfrac{\partial\left(\frac{y^3}3+\sin z\right)}{\partial y}+\dfrac{\partial(x^2z+y^2)}{\partial k}=z^2+y^2+x^2

Compute the integral of the divergence over R. Easily done by converting to cylindrical or spherical coordinates. I'll do the latter:

\begin{cases}x(\rho,\theta,\varphi)=\rho\cos\theta\sin\varphi\\y(\rho,\theta,\varphi)=\rho\sin\theta\sin\varphi\\z(\rho,\theta,\varphi)=\rho\cos\varphi\end{cases}\implies\begin{cases}x^2+y^2+z^2=\rho^2\\\mathrm dV=\rho^2\sin\varphi\,\mathrm d\rho\,\mathrm d\theta\,\mathrm d\varphi\end{cases}

So the volume integral is

\displaystyle\iiint_Rx^2+y^2+z^2\,\mathrm dV=\int_0^{\pi/2}\int_0^{2\pi}\int_0^3\rho^4\sin\varphi\,\mathrm d\rho\,\mathrm d\theta\,\mathrm d\varphi=\frac{486\pi}5

From this we need to subtract the contribution of

\displaystyle\iint_D\vec F(x,y,z)\cdot\mathrm d\vec S

that is, the integral of \vec F over the disk, oriented downward. Since z=0 in D, we have

\vec F(x,y,0)=\dfrac{y^3}3\,\vec\jmath+y^2\,\vec k

Parameterize D by

\vec r(u,v)=u\cos v\,\vec\imath+u\sin v\,\vec\jmath

where 0\le u\le 3 and 0\le v\le2\pi. Take the normal vector to be

\dfrac{\partial\vec r}{\partial v}\times\dfrac{\partial\vec r}{\partial u}=-u\,\vec k

Then taking the dot product of \vec F with the normal vector gives

\vec F(x(u,v),y(u,v),0)\cdot(-u\,\vec k)=-y(u,v)^2u=-u^3\sin^2v

So the contribution of integrating \vec F over D is

\displaystyle\int_0^{2\pi}\int_0^3-u^3\sin^2v\,\mathrm du\,\mathrm dv=-\frac{81\pi}4

and the value of the integral we want is

(integral of divergence of <em>F</em>) - (integral over <em>D</em>) = integral over <em>S</em>

==>  486π/5 - (-81π/4) = 2349π/20

Two farmers each have triangular plots of land in the diagram below with approximate values shown for lengths in feet
Ray Of Light [21]

Answer:

  • a) Plots are similar
  • b) x= 5577 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>Refer to attached</em>

<h3>Question</h3>
  • a) Are the plots of land similar?
  • b) Find to the exact value of x and rounded to the nearest tenth?
<h3>Solution</h3>

The small triangle have missing angle of 180° - (52° + 58°) = 70°

This is indicating both triangles have same 3 angle measures.

Since all angles are same, the triangles are similar.

<u>Corresponding sides, against corresponding angles are:</u>

  • 6180 and 8240
  • x and 7436

<u>As per property of similarity, the ratio of corresponding sides is same</u>

  • 6180/8240 = x/7436
  • x = 6180*7436/8240
  • x = 5577 feet

A. multiply all the numbers together to find the possible outcomes

4 x 4 = 16

There are 16 different jacket-shirt outfits Ardell have.

They will not be the same color = 4 x 3

4 x 3 = 12

12/16 = 0.75, or a 75% chance they will not be the same color

hope this helps

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:   b = 4, h = 13

Discussion:

For a triangle with base b" and height "h, the area formula is

A=  (1/2)bh.

In our case A = 26, h = 5b-7, so

26 = (1/2) b (5b-7).  Multiply both sides by 2:

26*2 = b(5b-7) =>

52 = b(5b-7)  =>

52 = 5b^2 - 7b =>           (subtract 52 from both sides)

5b^2 - 7b - 52 = 0.   This factors as follows:

(b - 4) (5 b + 13) = 0        (use quadratic formula to find this)

so b = 4 and h = 5b -7 = 5*4 - 7 = 13

Thank you,

MrB
