Moctezuma I's armies patrolled the trade routes of the Aztec Empire and kept them safe. The effevt this had on the empire was that it increased Aztec wealth by allowing merchants to freely travel across the empire. Option C is correct.

Moctezuma I was the second Aztec emperor and fifth king of Tenochtitlan. Under his rule, the Aztec Empire was consolidated, major expansion was undertaken, and Tenochtitlan started becoming the dominant partner of the Aztec Triple Alliance.
