I believe this is false because if they have different y-intercepts and slopes, there is one solution!!

A system of two linear equations is represented graphically as straight lines.
If the two slopes are equal, and the y-intercepts are equal, then you have a single line.
In this case, there is an infinite number of solutions. The solutions are all the points on the single line.

In the case of this problem, the two lines have different slopes. That is enough for the lines not to be the same line, and also for the lines not to be parallel. These two lines must intersect. The intersection of two different lines is a single point. That point is the solution of the system of equations. Therefore, this system of equations has one single solution. The statement is false.

Which equation is in standard form?
kifflom [539]
I believe that the last one is true

because the linear equations are

y=ax+b

which means that the point of y-axis is on one side and the slope, point on x-axis and y-intercept are on the other side

good luck

Find the equation of the line shown.<br> Pls help I’m so confused
Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

the equation for a line is y=MX+b

m= slope(rise/run)

x=variable

b= y intercept

you would find the slope by looking at the rise over run which are both 1 and the line is negative so the slope would be negative one

you would find b by looking at where the y intercept is (y when x is zero) which is 9

y= -x+9

hope that helped

Match each system of equations with its number of solutions
Ostrovityanka [42]

Answer:

8x + 7y = 30 ( one solution)

8x - 7y = 2

-8x + 7y = -2 ( infinitely many solutions )

8x - 7y = 2

8x - 7y = 2

-8x + 7y = 2 ( zero solutions )
