ANSWER: Sometimes, voters have the power to vote on issues themselves (when voting for propositions or other ballot measures). Other times, voters will choose representatives who will speak for them in government. By using their right to vote, a citizen can influence issues like conservation (which will help determine the future of our lands, public services (which will help determine the future of how our governments work), taxes (which will help determine how much money our government has to operate), and public transit plans (which will help determine how we can travel safely around our towns and cities). A voter has the ability to influence many other issues, so every vote counts.
