I will only do the first-three. You can repost number 4.

Question 1

f(x) = -x^2 + 10x + 4

dy/dx = -2x + 10

Question 2

f(x) = 20 - x + 2

dy/dx = -1

Question 3

f(x) = ex^4 - 2x^2

dy/dx = e•4x^3 + x^4 - 4x

dy/dx = 4ex^3 + x^4 - 4x

Which two terms in (3+14) +27 could you add to get a multiple of ten?
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

Answer:

3 and 27

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1:  Determine which two terms we can use</u>

We have the following numbers to choose from:  3, 14, 27

Adding two numbers to get a multiple of ten means that the number that we come up with needs to be divisible by ten.  For example:  20, 30, 50, 100 are all multiples of ten.

In this example the only one that would add up to create a multiple of ten is 27 and 3 which would give us 30 which is a multiple of 10.

Answer: 3 and 27

PLs help 50 PTS!!!!! PLEASE ILL GIVE BRAINLIEST!!!!!
Nookie1986 [14]

Answer:

\large\boxed{y=\dfrac{1}{4}x^2-x-4}

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a parabola in vertex form:

y=a(x-h)^2+k

<em>(h, k)</em><em> - vertex</em>

The focus is

\left(h,\ k+\dfrac{1}{4a}\right)

We have the vertex (2, -5) and the focus (2, -4).

Calculate the value of <em>a</em> using k+\dfrac{1}{4a}

<em>k = -5</em>

-5+\dfrac{1}{4a}=-4        <em>add 5 to both sides</em>

\dfrac{1}{4a}=1           <em>multiply both sides by 4</em>

4\!\!\!\!\diagup^1\cdot\dfrac{1}{4\!\!\!\!\diagup_1a}=4

\dfrac{1}{a}=4\to a=\dfrac{1}{4}

Substitute

a=\dfrac{1}{4},\ h=2,\ k=-5

to the vertex form of an equation of a parabola:

y=\dfrac{1}{4}(x-2)^2-5

The standard form:

y=ax^2+bx+c

Convert using

(a-b)^2=a^2-2ab+b^2

y=\dfrac{1}{4}(x^2-2(x)(2)+2^2)-5\\\\y=\dfrac{1}{4}(x^2-4x+4)-5

<em>use the distributive property: a(b+c)=ab+ac</em>

y=\left(\dfrac{1}{4}\right)(x^2)+\left(\dfrac{1}{4}\right)(-4x)+\left(\dfrac{1}{4}\right)(4)-5\\\\y=\dfrac{1}{4}x^2-x+1-5\\\\y=\dfrac{1}{4}x^2-x-4

Which statement best describes the function below?
harina [27]

Answer:

  • D. It is a many-to-one function

Step-by-step explanation:

  • One-t<em>o-one if every y value has exactly one x value mapped onto it</em>
  • <em>Many-to-one if there are y values that have more than one x value mapped onto them.</em>

We have a function that is of degree 3, so it has 3 x-intercepts which means there are points (x₁, 0), (x₂, 0), (x₃, 0), so it is a many-to-one function

Correct option is D

Question 10<br> Divide £64 in the ratio 3:5
ICE Princess25 [194]

Answer:

24:40

Step-by-step explanation:

3:5

This means there are 8 divisions altogether - 8 parts to be split (3+5=8)

64 / 8 = 8

8x3 = 24

8x5 = 40

£24:£40

Hope this makes sense!
