1/3 + 1/4 =. Since we need to add thirds and fourths our answer has to be given as something that are both so both could be twelfths if you cut the 1/3 piece in 4 and the 1/4 in 3.

Find equivalent fractions
1/3= 4/12
1/4=3/12
Add them up
4/12+3/12=7/12
So
1/3+1/4=7/12

<span>The answer is 7/12. You get the minimum common multiplo. That is to say a number that is divisible between 3 and 4. Which is 12. Then you divide the twelve between the four and multiply it by the numerator that in this case is one, then it is twelve between four gives three and one three more and you do the same with the three, twelve between three is four by one four plus three. And it gives you the result 7/12</span>

The weight of a product is normally distributed with a standard deviation of 0.5 grams. If the production manager wants no more
Savatey [412]

Answer:

4.28 grams

Explanation:

The z score is used to determine by how many standard deviations the raw score is above or below the mean. The z score is given by the formula:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma} \\\\where\ \mu=mean,\sigma=standard \ deviation,\ x=raw\ score

Given that:

P(x > 5.1 grams) = 5%, x = 5.1 grams, σ = 0.5 grams

P(x > 5.1 grams) = 5%

P(x < 5.1 grams) = 100% - 5% = 95%

P(x < 5.1) = 95%

From the normal distribution table, 95% corresponds with a z score of 1.645. Hence:

1.64=\frac{5.1-\mu}{0.5}\\\\5.1-\mu=0.82\\\\\mu=4.28\ grams

Variable Costing—Sales Exceed Production The beginning inventory is 14,500 units. All of the units that were manufactured during
blagie [28]

Answer:

a. Variable costing income from operations <u>is greater than </u>absorption costing income from operations.

b. $870,000

Explanation:

a. Under Variable costing, only the variable manufacturing costs are apportioned to the units produced.

Cost under Variable costing are;

= 114 * 14,500

= $‭1,653,000‬

Under Absorption Costing, both fixed and variable costs are apportioned to the units produced.

Cost therefore is;

= (114 + 60) * 14,500

= $‭2,523,000‬

Variable costing income from operations is greater than absorption costing income from operations because Absorption costs yields more cost.

b.= Absorption cost - Variable cost

= ‭‭2,523,000‬ - 1,653,000‬

= $870,000

<em>Variable costing income from operation will be $870,000 higher than Absorption costing income from operations.</em>
