How many square feet of outdoor carpet will we need for this hole?

Mathematics

Answer:

The area of the outdoor carpet = 60 - 6 - 6 = 48 ft²

Step-by-step explanation:

The picture below is what you are referring to .

The whole area of the shape forms a rectangle. A triangle and a rectangle has been cut off from the whole carpet rectangle. The square ft or area of the carpet is the subtraction of the area of the rectangle and triangle cut off from the whole area of the rectangle .

Area of the rectangle = Lb

where

L = 12 ft

b = 5 ft

area = 12 × 5 = 60 ft²

The cut off triangle area

area = 1/2 × base × height

area = 1/2 × 4 × 3

area = 12/2 = 6 ft²

The cut off rectangle area

area = Lb

area = 3 × 2

area = 6 ft²

The area of the outdoor carpet = 60 - 6 - 6 = 48 ft²

A bus leaves the school traveling west at 50 miles per hours. After it travels 15 miles, a car follows the bus, traveling at 55
Maru [420]

Answer:

3 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

The rate of bus is 50

The rate of car is 55

Which means, per hour, the Car catches up by 55 - 50 = 5 miles

Since, the car starts AFTER the bus has already travelled 15 miles, the CAR IS BEHIND by 15 miles. To catch up these 15 miles (at the rate of catching up 5 miles per hour), the car would need:

15/5 = 3 hours to catch up with the BUS

Note: we use the formula

d = rt

where d = distance

r is rate

t is time

Thus, we had:

d = rt

t = d/r

t = 15/5

t = 3

Thus, after 3 hours, the car with catch up with the bus

How long is AC
Angle B =60°
And BC = 3√ 3
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer:

AB or x =6sqrt(3) (which is what the pic ask for)

but you ask for AC which is 9

Step-by-step explanation:

The hypotenuse is twice the length of the short leg.

The short leg is 3sqrt(3) (because I see it is opposite the smallest angle which is 30 in this case).

So the hypotenuse is twice 3sqrt(3) which is 6sqrt(3)

You are also asking for AC though... That is the short leg times sqrt(3) so that measurement is 3sqrt(3)*sqrt(3)=3(sqrt(3*3))=3(3)=9
