luda_lava [24]

Answer: C) Populations have no effect on their environment.

Ecology is a branch of biology which deals with the relation of organisms with each other and with their surrounding environment. A population can have a negative or positive effect on the environment also, the environment can exert positive or negative effect on the organisms in an ecosystem.

Populations can have negative effects on their environment: Human population utilizes fossil fuels for transportation causing air pollution it is an example of negative effect on the environment.

Populations can affect the size of other populations: Increase in predator population restricts the growth of prey populations.

Populations can adapt to changes in the environment: Organisms undergo favorable adaptation in order to increase chances of survival against changing environment.

On considering the above points this can be concluded that populations have no effect on their environment would least likely show up in his notes.
