Alvord's Nostalgic tone is vulnerable and emotional. It is a piece which is full with conclusions and reflection when she reviews esteems near her heart, for example, her clan and legacy and it movements to a more uneasy tone when she depicts the newness of Dartmouth at first. At that point it moves back to a more nostalgic tone as she guarantees she found another family and clan there.
She reflects back upon her adolescence and growing up as a piece of the navajo clan.
Pondering her past which adds to the nostalgic tone.
