Data can be analysed in a situation when one wants to know how increase in price has an effect on purchasing power.

What is a trend?

It should be noted that a trend simply means the general direction or price over a period of time. A situation when I need data was when I wanted to know how increase in prices had an effect in one's purchasing power.
To get the data, I had to take the prices of goods when there was no inflation and prices when there was inflation and how they had an impact on income.
It showed that an inverse relationship existed as an increase in prices had a negative impact on one's purchasing ability.
