Write an expression that represents the perimeter of the football field. Let x represent the length of the football field. Inclu

de parentheses in your expression. Next, write an equivalent expression that does not include parentheses. What property or properties did you use to simplify? Explain.
The width of the field is seventy yards shorter than the length.

Can anybody help me? I'm stuck.

Expression with parenthesis: = 2 ( l + w)
Expression without parenthesis = 2l + 2w

The property we used is known as "Distributive Property"

Let, width = w
Length = w + 70

Perimeter would be: P = 2(w+70+w)
p = 2(2w+70)
p = 4w + 140

Hope this helps!

Found the problem:
Item     Cost       Sales Price
T-shirt    6                10
hats       4                  7

Let x = t-shirts, y = hats

6x + 4y = 2,000
10x + 7y = 3,375

4y = 2000 - 6x
y = 2000/4 - 6x/4
y = 500 - 3x/2

10x + 7y = 3,375
10x + 7(500 - 3x/2) = 3,375
10x + 3500 - 21x/2 = 3,375
10x - 10.5x = 3,375 - 3500
-0.5x =  -125
-0.5x / -0.5 = -125/-0.5
x = 250 shirts

They will need 250 shirts.

GEOMETRY , FIND THE AREA OF A REGULAR POLYGON!! BRAINLIEST GIVEN!! BOGUS ANSWERS BLOCKED
Inessa05 [86]
To find the area of a regular figure,the formula would be:

s^2(n)/4tan (180/n)

where
s is the length of any side
n is the number of sides

In this case:
12^2(6)/4tan (180/6)
=144/4tan(30)
=144/120tan
≈374.1 in^2 (correct to the nearest tenth)

Hope it helps!

Yes,I need help with another one of these , the number that got cut off is 24 btw.
V125BC [204]

Since, PS and QR are parallel, we know that <QRP is equal to <RPS. Therefore, we can solve for y by setting the two equations equal to each other.

5y+14=8y-13

*Subtract 5y from both sides to isolate the variable*

14=3y-13

*Add 13 to both sides*

27=3y

*Divide both sides by 3*

9=y

Now, plug in 9 for y in the equation 8y-13 to find the measure of that angle.

8(9)-13

<RPS=59

Now, the sum of the angles in any triangle is equal to 180 degrees. We can use this knowledge to set up an equation to solve for x.

3x+2x+1+59=180

*Combine like terms*

5x+60=180

*Subtract 60 from both sides*

5x=120

*Divide both sides by 5*

x=24

Now, we can find <RSP by pluggin 24 in for x.

2(24)+1

48+1

<RSP=49 degrees

Hope this helps!!

-7n - 7 + 8 + 10n
Can someone please figure this out?!???
Step2247 [10]

The answer is 3n+1

What i did was add the like terms.

-7n+10n= 3n

-7 + 8=1 (the 7 is negative because it's being subtracted)

if you put it together you get 3n+1

hope this helps
