The Hazelwood vs. Kuhlmeier court case was one that established that student newspapers have less freedom of speech protections than individual speech in American society. I agree with the Supreme Court ruling in this case. Administrators within a school need to have the power to limit what topics students can talk about in school newspapers. If students could talk about whatever they wanted in a school newspaper, some students would talk about topics that are inappropriate for school (i.e. drug use).

This court case gives administrators a necessary amount of power needed in order to keep the school newspaper from turning into unorganized chaos.
