The Hazelwood vs. Kuhlmeier court case was one that established that student newspapers have less freedom of speech protections than individual speech in American society. I agree with the Supreme Court ruling in this case. Administrators within a school need to have the power to limit what topics students can talk about in school newspapers. If students could talk about whatever they wanted in a school newspaper, some students would talk about topics that are inappropriate for school (i.e. drug use).

This court case gives administrators a necessary amount of power needed in order to keep the school newspaper from turning into unorganized chaos.

What were the causes of the labor reform movements
Alex73 [517]
Answer: In the mid-1800s, a series of reform movements swept across the United States and people led groups and formed organizations to change society. (Define Reform: making changes in, in order to improve it.) Some of these reforms were in response to social issues made worse by urbanization that developed as industry and technology advanced. American reformers tried to tackle series issues such as abolishing slavery(kinda), promoting women’s rights, improving education, providing better care for the mentally ill(this movement was started by Dorothea Dix), improving prison conditions, and educating the public on the dangers of alcohol.

Tanya [424]

Answer:

During the Middle Ages, the Church was a major part of everyday life. The Church served to give people spiritual guidance and it served as their government as well. Now, in the 20th century, the church's role has diminished. It no longer has the power that it used to have.
