Tokugawa Ieyasu was the master of central Japan and influenced the religion of Japan by banishing Christianity from all over its territory.

Explanation:

Tokugawa exercised great control over Japan, maintaining it as a political and economic unit, strengthening its military bases and transmuting the rude samurai of the time into samurai, masters of war arts and classical arts. His force was exerted upon the whole court and all Daimyo and religious orders.

In 1612, he forbids Christianity and established that all citizens should follow their religion, Buddhism. Those who refused would be severely punished.
