Answer: d. 40 miles

Explanation:

In June 30, 1908, an event that has since been called the largest meteor impact event in recorded history happened near the Podkamennaya Tunguska River in Russia. A large explosion ripped through the skies and unleashed destruction that is said to have produced more than a 150 times energy than the Hiroshima bomb did.

The effect was that it destroyed over 2,000 km² of the forest surrounding the area and flattened over 70 million trees. People in the nearest town about 40 miles away felt the blast with some even being thrown into the air.
