I’m pretty sure all you have to do is plug in your numbers for example number 5 is y=2x-2 so you would plug in the first number which is -1. So the equation that you solve would be y=2 times -1 minus 2. That would be -4. I hope this helps. If you need further explanation please say so in comments.

A washer and a dryer cost $790 combined. The washer costs $40 more than the dryer. What is the cost of the dryer?
Pepsi [2]

if the washer and dryer cost $790 then you would divide 790 by 2.

then you will get $395

then you add 40 to $395 and will get $435

so the answer is $435

6) Alberto invests $8,534 in a retirement
ludmilkaskok [199]

Answer:

  17 years

Step-by-step explanation:

The compound interest formula is ...

  A = P(1 +r/n)^(nt)

where P is the principal invested at annual rate r, compounded n times per year for t years.

Filling in the numbers and solving for t, we find ...

  16826.03 = 8534(1 +.04/12)^(12t)

  16826.03/8534 = 1.0033333...^(12t)

Taking logs, we have ...

  log(16826.03/8534) = 12t·log(1.0333333...)

Dividing by the coefficient of t gives ...

  log(16826.03/8534)/(12·log(301/300)) = t ≈ 17.000

It will take 17 years for the account balance to reach $16,826.03.
