A 92-kg skier is sliding down a ski slope that makes an angle of 30 degrees above the horizontal direction. The coefficient of k

inetic friction between the skis and the snow is 0.10. Neglecting any air resistance, what is the acceleration of the skier?

Answer:

a = 4.05 m/s²

Explanation:

Known data

m= 92 kg  : mass of the  skier

θ =30°  :angle θ of the ski slope  with respect to the horizontal direction

μk= 0.10 : coefficient of kinetic friction

g = 9.8 m/s² : acceleration due to gravity

Newton's second law:

∑F = m*a Formula (1)

∑F : algebraic sum of the forces in Newton (N)

m : mass s (kg)

a : acceleration  (m/s²)

We define the x-axis in the direction parallel to the movement of the block on the ramp and the y-axis in the direction perpendicular to it.

Forces acting on the skier

W: Weight of the skier : In vertical direction

N : Normal force : perpendicular to the ski slope

f : Friction force: parallel to the ski slope

Calculated of the W

W= m*g

W=  92kg* 9.8 m/s² = 901,6 N

x-y weight components

Wx= Wsin θ= 901,6 N *sin 30° = 450.8 N

Wy= Wcos θ = 901,6 N *cos 30° =780.8 N

Calculated of the N

We apply the formula (1)

∑Fy = m*ay    ay = 0

N - Wy = 0

N = Wy

N = 780.8 N

Calculated of the f

f = μk* N=  0.10*780.8 N

f = 78.08 N

We apply the formula (1) to calculated acceleration of the skier:

∑Fx = m*ax  ,  ax= a  : acceleration of the block

Wx - f = m*a

450.8- 78.08 = ( 92)*a

372.72 =  (92)*a

a = (372.72)/ (92)

a = 4.05 m/s²

0.001225 kg/L x 720 000 000L =?
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer:

0.001225 kg/L × 720 000 000 L = 882000 kg

Explanation:

Given:

The equation to solve is given as:

0.001225 kg/L × 720 000 000 L = ?

Let us write each term of the product in terms of power of 10.

As 0.001225 has 6 digits after the decimal place, therefore, we use the exponent 6 for 10 and the sign is negative. This gives,

0.001225\ kg/L = 1225\times 10^{-6}\ kg/L

Now, for 720000000 L there are 6 zeros after 720. So, we use exponent 6 but with a positive sign. This gives,

720000000\ L=720\times 10^{6}\ L

Now, finding the product, we get:

0.001225\ kg/L\times 720000000\ L\\\\=1225\times 10^{-6}\ kg/L\times 720\times 10^6\ L\\\\=(1225\times 720)\times (10^6\times 10^{-6})\ (\frac{kg}{L}\times L)\\\\=882000\times 10^{6-6}\ kg\\\\=882000\times 10^0\ kg\\\\=882000\times 1\ kg\\\\=882000\ kg

Therefore, the product is equal to:

0.001225 kg/L × 720 000 000 L = 882000 kg

A proton of mass is released from rest just above the lower plate and reaches the top plate with speed . An electron of mass is
xenn [34]

Answer:

  v = √ 2e (V₂-V₁) / m

Explanation:

For this exercise we can use the conservation of the energy of the electron

At the highest point. Resting on the top plate

         Em₀ = U = -e V₁

At the lowest point. Just before touching the bottom plate

        Emf = K + U = ½ m v² - e V₂

Energy is conserved

         Em₀ = Emf

          -eV₁ = ½ m v² - e V₂

           v = √ 2e (V₂-V₁) / m

Where e is the charge of the electron, V₂-V₁ is the potential difference applied to the capacitor and m is the mass of the electron
