A 1 = 57, a 2 = 61, a 3 = 65 ( arithmetic sequence )
a n = a 1 + ( n - 1 ) d
a 2 = a 1 + d
61 = 57 + d
d = 61 - 57
d = 4
a 9 = 57 + 8 * 4 = 57 + 36 = 93
Answer: Her score on the 9th assessment will be 93 points.

Answer:

Answer is 89

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that Ana's statistics skills have been improving during her senior year at Fletcher High School. On her first end-of-the-week assessment she scored 57 points, then she scored 61 and 65 on her next two assessments.

If her scores continued to increase at the same rate, then we can find the pattern

57,61,65

This is an arithmetic sequence with common difference =4

First term = 57

Hence 9th term would be

a_9 =a+(9-1)d\\=57+8(4)\\=89

The measures of the obtuse angles in the isosceles trapezoid are five more than four times the measures of the acute angles. Wri
emmainna [20.7K]

Answer:

a. i. x + y = 180 (1) and x - 4y = 5 (2)

ii. The two acute angles are 35° each and the two obtuse angles are 145° each.

Step-by-step explanation:

a. The measures of the obtuse angles in the isosceles trapezoid are five more than four times the measures of the acute angles. Write and solve a system of equations to find the measures of all the angles.

i. Write a system of equations to find the measures of all the angles.

Let x be the obtuse angles and y be the acute angles.

Since we have two obtuse angles at the top of the isosceles trapezoid and two acute angles at the bottom of the isosceles trapezoid, and also, since the sum of angles in a quadrilateral is 360, we have

2x + 2y = 360

x + y = 180 (1)

Its is also given that the measures of the obtuse angles in the isosceles trapezoid are five more than four times the measures of the acute angles.

So, x = 4y + 5 (2)

x - 4y = 5 (2)

So, our system of equations are

x + y = 180 (1) and x - 4y = 5 (2)

ii. Solve a system of equations to find the measures of all the angles.

Since

x + y = 180 (1) and x - 4y = 5 (2)

Subtracting (2) from (1), we have

x + y = 180 (1)

-

x - 4y = 5 (2)

5y = 175

dividing both sides by 5, we have

y = 175/5

y = 35°

From (1), x = 180° - y = 180° - 35° = 145°

So, the two acute angles are 35° each and the two obtuse angles are 145° each.

Triangle ABC is congruent to triangle CDE using the side - angle - side congruence theorem. The sink hole is 52.2 ft and the Perimeter of ABC is 172.2 ft

What are congruent triangles?

Two triangles are said to be congruent if they have the same shape and their corresponding sides are congruent.

In the image shown:

AC = CE, BC = ED and they have the same angle (opposite angles are congruent).

Hence:

Triangle ABC is congruent to triangle CDE using the side - angle - side congruence theorem.

AB = DE = 52.2 ft

Perimeter of ABC = AB + BC + AC = 50 + 70 + 52.2 = 172.2 ft
