The equation of a circle:

(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2

(h, k) - center

r - radius

We have the center (3, 2) → h = 3 and k = 2.

The length of a radius is equal a distance between a center and a point (9, 3).

The formula of a distance:

d=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

Substitute:

r=\sqrt{(3-2)^2+(9-3)^2}=\sqrt{1^2+6^2}=\sqrt{1+36}=\sqrt{37}

Substitute to the equation of a circle:

(x-3)^2+(y-2)^2=(\sqrt{37})^2\\\\\boxed{(x-3)^2+(y-2)^2=37}

What is your strategy for graphing a linear equation? Do you think you can use the same strategy to graph a quadratic equation?
Nina [5.8K]
To graph a linear equation, you use y=mx+b. To graph a quadratic equation you use y=ax^2 + bx + c. You cannot use the same strategy to graph a quadratic equation, as in order to graph a quadratic equation, you would execute it differently. The idea is the same however, to plug numbers into the equation to find your coordinates.

A right rectangular prism has base dimensions of 3 inches by 12 inches and a height of 5 inches. An oblique rectangular prism ha
KonstantinChe [14]
Yes they are. Given that a volume of a rectangular prism is V=l•w•h, we can plug them into an equation and compare them. I'll call the Right rectangular prism figure R and the oblique rectangular prism O

For Figure R, We know all the basic needs to find the volume. This means we can plug it in.

V=l•w•h
V=12•3•5
Now We can solve for V
V=12•15
V=180

The volume of the right rectangular prism is 180in^3

Now, For figure O.
V=9•4•5
V=9•20
V= 180.

With this in mind, We now can say that the volumes of both the rectangular prisms are the same.
