Answer:

Intercompany sales between a parent company and a subsidiary must be recorded at cost of goods sold, it cannot include any type of profit margin. The parent company prepares a consolidated balance that includes its affiliates.

On the other hand, if a company only exercises a significant influence over another, but doesn't present a consolidated balance, then it can sell its products and services and make a profit. In this case, both companies are completely separated entities and there is no limitation regarding the transactions that they might engage in.

Answer:

Because of the addition of Inventory figures on the parent company's balance sheet

Explanation:

The direction of an inter-company sale of inventory matter when the parent has a controlling interest in the subsidiary, but not when the investor only has a significant influence, even though both might use the equity method to account for their respective investments  because:

When the company only has significant influence figures are not consolidated in the balance sheet but when the parent has controlling interest, the inventory figures are added on the balance sheet of the parent and inter-company sale needs to be adjusted.

n200080 [17]

Answer:

$27.20

Explanation:

The computation of the predetermined overhead rate is shown below:

= Variable overhead rate per hour + Fixed Overhead rate per hour

where,

Variable overhead rate per hour is $9.50

And, the fixed overhead rate per hours is

=  budgeted fixed manufacturing overhead ÷ direct labor hours

= $130,980 ÷ 7,400

= $17.70

So, the predetermined overhead rate is

= $9.50 + $17.70

= $27.20

By adding the variable overhead rate per hour and the fixed overhead rate per hour we can find out the predetermined overhead rate

Donny owns and leases a coal mine to brian. the lease agreement states that brian will pay donny $4 per ton royalty on coal mine
Gnoma [55]

Answer: $25,000

Explanation:

Given Data:

Gross income from coal = $250,000

Income from trucking coal = $20,000

Royalty paid to Donny = $30,000

Taxable income on call excluding depletion = $40,000

Coal depletion rate = 10%

Lease agreement = $4/ton

Therefore:

brian's percentage depletion deduction for the current year is

= gross income x coal depletion rate

= $250,000 x 0.1

=$25,000

ELEN [110]

Answer:

B. If the building could be sold, then the after-tax proceeds that would be generated by any such sale should be charged as a cost to any new project that would use it.

Explanation:

The proceeds from a potential sale are the opportunity cost of using the building for a given project instead of selling to a third party. Not including any cost will lead to project not recovering the entire capital used in it.

Is important to notice this is the after-tax proceeds from the sale of the building.

delmont movers has a profit margin of 6.2 percent and net income of $48900. what is the common size percentage for the cost of g
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer:

The common size percentage for the cost of goods sold is 48.05%

Explanation:

The profit margin reflects a company's overall ability to turn income into profit, is calculated by formula:

Profit margin = Net income/Net sales

Delmont movers has a profit margin of 6.2 percent and net income of $48,900

Net sales of the company = Net income/Profit margin = $48,900/6.2% = $788,709.68

The cost of goods sold amounted to $379,000.

The common size percentage for the cost of goods sold = (The cost of goods sold/Net sales) x 100% = ($379,000/$788,709.68) x 100% = 48.05%
