Take two points to find the slope
Let;s take (1, -3) and (-3, -1)

Point slope formula is

m = \frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}
or
y₂-y₁ = m×(x₂-x₁)  Which is the same thing

m = \frac{-1-(-3)}{-3-1}
    = \frac{2}{-4}
It can be simplified:
    = -\frac{1}{2}
Now we found the slope

Same formula:
y₂-y₁ = m × (x₂-x₁)
Substitute the point only          (1, -3)
y₂-(-3) = -\frac{1}{2} × (x₂-1)
y₂ + 3 = -\frac{1}{2} × (x₂ - 1)   (minus minus = plus)

The last option is the answer

Find the inverse of the following function g(x) = 2x+10/4
vampirchik [111]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the inverse of the function you need to swap x and y

g(x)=y so therefore if you switch x and y, you get

x= 2y+ 10/4

Next, you need to get all of the values on the y side over to the x side. To do this you need to subtract 10/4 from the y side of the equation.

x-10/4=2y+10/4-10/4

The end product of this should be... (This is not your answer)

x-10/4=2y

Now you need to get rid of the 2 on the y side. To do this you need to divide both sides of the equation by 2

2/x-10/4=2y/2

So your answer is...

x-10/4 over 2 = y

OR

2/x + 5/4 = y

What is the answer to round 62.8 to the nearest whole number
insens350 [35]

Answer:

63

Step-by-step explanation:

62.8

We are round to the ones place so we look at the tenths places

8 is 5 or greater so we round the ones place up

2 becomes 3

62.8 rounds to 63

Which equation has the solutions x = 5+/- 2 the squire root of 7 over 3
coldgirl [10]
If you look at the quadratic formula:

x=(-b±√(b^2-4ac))/(2a)

We can say that -b=5, b=-5

If I read it right you had ±2√7 which is equal to ±√28, and we know b=-5 so:

±√(25-4ac)=±√28

And since 3=2a, a=1.5 making the above:

±√(25-6c)=±√28

25-6c=28

-6c=3

c=-0.5

So a=1.5, b=-5, and c=-0.5 thus

y=1.5x^2-5x-0.5

We can check this by reapplying the quadratic formula to the equation above

x=(5±√(25-4(1.5)(-0.5))/3

x=(5±√(25+3))/3

x=(5±√28)/3

x=(5±√(4*7))/3

x=(5±2√7)/3

What is a simple rule for adding and subtracting like fractions
konstantin123 [22]

Here is you're answer:

One of the most simple rules when solving fractions is to "find the common denominator."

Example:

  • \frac{1}{2} + \frac{1}{2} =
  • Find the common denominator:
  • Common denominator is 2:
  • 1 +1=2
  • = \frac{2}{2} = 2

So, in order to solve fractions you first have to find the common denominator of each fraction, then you have to add or subtract the numerators to equal you're answer.

Hope this helps!
