Antigens are in other words carbohydrates substances that are external to the body and trigger an immune response to certain other agents. They are also known as blood group antigens and in our blood genotype, we have two from positive and negative rhesus factors. However we also have four different from blood group antigens from A, B, AB, and O and if the blood Mariana is researching has antibodies to A, and B types that means the only group that the blood tolerates are O, therefore it is O type. Because the other types will be attacked by the O type because they are foreign to it. In other words if it reacts against A, and B types. As well as not having a defensive antigen it has to be O-.
