Answer is t_<10

-3t+9_>-21

-3t_>-30

t_<10

**when you divide or multiply both sides by a negative you have to flip the sign**

you can substitute numbers to make sure your answer is correct. For example if u substitute t=9 -27+9_>-21 -18_>-21 which is correct.(but you’ll see it’ll be incorrect if u put t=11)

In baseball, the length of the path between each pair of consecutive bases is 90 feet. The paths form right angles. How far does
Gelneren [198K]

That's just the diagonal of the 90-ft square.

It's also the hypotenuse of a right triangle with equal 90-ft legs.

     Hypotenuse = √(90² + 90²) = √2(90²)  =  90 √2  =  <span>127.3 ft </span>

max invests $6000 in a savings account for 3 years. the account pays compound interest at a rate of 1.5% per year for the first
madam [21]

Answer:

2.1%

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for compound interest is given as:

A=P(1+I)^n\\\\P-Principal \\A-amount\\i-compound \ interest \ rate

Given the Principal amount as $6000, and the rate in the first two years as 1.5%:

A=P(1+i)^n\\\\A_2=6000(1+0.015)^2\\\\A_2=6181.35

We compound A_2 for 1 year at rate i to obtain $6311.16:

A=P(1+i)^n, n=1, i=i, P=6181.35, A=6311.16\\\\6311.16=6181.35(1+i)^1\\\\\frac{6311.16}{6181.35}=(1+i)\\\\i=\frac{6311.16}{6181.35}-1\\\\i=0.02100

Hence, the compound interest rate in the third year is 2.1%

Clara has $67 in her piggy bank. She spent x dollars on a dog bowl and now has $57.4 remains.
kolezko [41]

Answer:

B) 57.4+x=67

Step-by-step explanation:

We take the amount in the piggy bank.  Then we take the amount spent and add it to the amount she has left.  These two amounts should be equal

piggy bank = spent + left

67 = x + 57.40

An oil exploration company currently has two active projects, one in Asia and the other in Europe. Let A be the event that the A
Virty [35]

Answer:

a)

0.5

option A

b)

0.6

c)

0.1

Step-by-step explanation:

The event A and B are independent so

P(A∩B)=P(A)*P(B)

P(A∩B)=P(0.2)*P(0.5)=0.10

a)

We have to find P(B'|A')

P(B'|A')=P(B'∩A')/P(A')

P(A)=0.2

P(A')=Asian project is not successful=1-P(A)=1-0.2=0.8

P(B)=0.5

P(B')=Europe project is not successful=1-P(B)=1-0.5=0.5

P(B'∩A')=Europe and Asia both project are not successful=P(A')*P(B')=0.8*0.5=0.4

P(B'|A')=P(B'∩A')/P(A')=0.4/0.8=0.5

This can be done by another independence property for conditional probability

P(B|A)=P(B)

P(B'|A')=P(B')

P(B'|A')=0.5

b)

Probability of at least one of two  projects will be successful means that the probability of success of Asia project or probability of success of Europe project  or probability of success of Europe and Asian project which is P(AUB).

P(AUB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A∩B)

P(AUB)=0.2+0.5-0.1

P(AUB)=0.6

c)

Probability of only Asian project is successful given that at least one of the two projects is successful means that probability of success of project Asia while the project Europe is not successful denoted as P((A∩B')/(A∪B))=?

P((A∩B')/(A∪B))=P((A∩B')∩(A∪B))/P(A∪B)

P((A∩B')∩(A∪B))=P(A∩B')*P(A∪B)

P(A∩B')=P(A)*P(B')=0.2*0.5=0.10

P((A∩B')∩(A∪B))=0.1*0.6=0.06

P((A∩B')/(A∪B))=0.06/0.6=0.1
