If household pets are being released into the wild, they would be in danger, mainly because they are domesticated.  They understand life with people, where honestly, people give them everything they need.

Explanation:

With the way people treat their pets, it cripples them.  So much so that everything that's in their DNA, is more less thrown out the door.  They can't fend for themselves if they are released into the wild.
