Y^2-5=31  add 5 to both sides

y^2=36  take the square root of both sides..

y=±√36

y=±6

y=-6 and 6 so B and D is the answer.

Solve for the value of y.<br> (9y+5)°<br> 58°
andrezito [222]

The value of in the complementary angles y is 3

<em>Your question is not complete, it seems to be missing the following information,</em>

(9y+5)°  + 58° are complementary angles, solve for the value of y

Complementary angles add up to 90 degrees. That is the sum of the two given angles must sum up to 90 degrees.

  • The first given angle = (9y+5)°
  • The second given angle = 58°
  • The sum of the two angle = (9y+5)°  + 58°  = 90°

Simplify the equation as follows to determine the value of y;

9y + 5 + 58 = 90

9y + 63 = 90

9y = 90 - 63

9y = 27

y = \frac{27}{9} \\\\y = 3

Thus, the value of in the complementary angles y is 3
