1) 6(b - 7)

 = 6(b) - 6(7)

 = 6b - 42

Answer: B

2) 3(4x + 6y + 2)

= 3(4x) + 3(6y) + 3(2)

= 12x + 18y + 6

Answer: D

3) -(6x + 5y)

= -1(6x) - 1(5y)

= -6x - 5y

Answer: A

1 → B

multiply each term in the parenthesis by the 6 outside

6(b-7) = 6b - 42

2 → D

multiply each term in the parenthesis by the 3 outside

3(4x+6y+2) = 12x+18y+6

3 → A

the value outside the parenthesis is -1, hence each term inside is multiplied by -1

-1(6x+5y) = -6x -5y

Ardem collected data from a class survey. He then randomly selected samples of five responses to generate four samples.
scoundrel [369]

Solution: The sample mean of sample 1 is:

\bar{x}=\frac{4+5+2+4+3}{5}= \frac{18}{5}=3.6

The sample mean of sample 2 is:

\bar{x}=\frac{2+2+6+5+7}{5}= \frac{22}{5}=4.4

The sample mean of sample 3 is:

\bar{x}=\frac{4+6+3+4+1}{5}= \frac{18}{5}=3.6

The sample mean of sample 4 is:

\bar{x}=\frac{5+2+4+3+6}{5}= \frac{20}{5}=4

The minimum sample mean of the four sample means is 3.6 and maximum sample mean of the four sample means is 4.4.

Therefore, using  his four samples, between 3.6 and 4.4 will Ardem's actual population mean lie.

Hence the option 3.6 and 4.4 is correct

On Thursday a local shop sold a combination of 417 hamburgers and cheese burgers. The number of cheeseburgers sold was two times
seropon [69]

Answer:

The number of hamburgers sold was 139 and the number of cheeseburgers  sold was 278.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x -----> the numbers of hamburgers sold on Thursday

y -----> the numbers of cheeseburgers sold on Thursday

we know that

x+y=417 ----> equation A

y=2x ----> equation B

Substitute the equation B in equation A and solve for x

x+2x=417

3x=417

x=139

Find the value of y

y=2(139)=278

therefore

The number of hamburgers sold was 139 and the number of cheeseburgers  sold was 278.
