 f(x) = (x- zero) * (x -zero)

f(x) = (x--2) (x-8)

f(x) = (x+2) (x-8)

if you need it multiplied out

f(x) = x^2 +2x -8x-16

f(x) = x^2 -6x-16

\bf \cfrac{x+2}{x^2+6x-7}    so, that function is "defined", ok, what values of "x" are not in the domain, namely, what values can "x" take on and not make the function "undefined", well,  you know, if we end up with a 0 at the denominator, like   \bf \cfrac{x+2}{0}    then, we'd have an "undefined" expression...so... any values of "x" that make the denominator 0, are not really the ones we want, and thus they'd be excluded from the domain.

so, hmm which are those? let's check, let's set the denominator to 0, and solve for "x".

\bf x^2+6x-7=0\implies (x+7)(x-1)=0\implies x=
\begin{cases}
-7\\
1
\end{cases}
\\\\\\
\textit{let's check, } x=-7\quad \cfrac{(-7)+2}{(-7)^2+6(-7)-7}\implies \cfrac{-5}{49-42-7}\implies \cfrac{-5}{0}
\\\\\\
x=1\quad \cfrac{(1)+2}{(1)^2+6(1)-7}\implies \cfrac{3}{1+6-7}\implies \cfrac{-3}{0}

Y_Kistochka [10]

Answer:

The population of 75 hours from now would be 40,000.

Step-by-step explanation:

The reason for this is because your initial number is 10,000 and when 25 hours pass by, your population would be 20,000. Another 25 hours pass by, and then your population would be 40,000. If you multiply 25 by 3, you will notice 75 hours have just passed, so your answer would be 40,000.

To reverse a percentage decrease you divide it by the decrease (+ 100%)
For example we will pick the number, 100, which is decreased by 15% to 85.

To make 85 back to 100 we divide it by the decrease (1-0.15):
85 / 0.85 = 100

To find out how much 85 increased to get back to 100, we do:
15 / 85 = 0.1765 = %17.65

15 is the reduction/difference, and 85 is the with reduction total.

Because percentages stay the same, this is applicable to any numbers, from this, we know that whenever something is reduced by 15% - when restored to it's original is increased by %17.65

The answer is %17.65
