To subsitute, we need to solve for 1 variable
let's solve for x in bottom equation

x-2y=2
add 2y both sides
x=2y+2
sub 2y+2 for x in other equation

-5(2y+2)+3y=11
-10y-10+3y=11
-7y-10=11
add 10 to both sides
-7y=21
divide both sides by -7
y=-3

sub back
x=2y+2
x=2(-3)+2
x=-6+2
x=-4

(x,y)
(-4,-3)

Joe drove 538 miles in 9 hours 15 minutes. what was his average speed per hour
Lynna [10]
I am not sure but I think you have to multiply 538 and 9 and get 4842 then divide 4842 by 15 and get 322.8. ( I am not sure if I'm right ).

The distribution of prices for home sales in a certain New Jersey county is skewed to the right with a mean of $290,000 and a st
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer:

The probability that the mean of the sample is greater than $325,000

P( X > 3,25,000) = P( Z >2.413) = 0.008

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>Step(i):-</em></u>

Given the mean of the Population( )= $290,000

Standard deviation of the Population = $145,000

Given the size of the sample 'n' = 100

Given 'X⁻'  be a random variable in Normal distribution

Let   X⁻ = 325,000

Z = \frac{x^{-}-mean }{\frac{S.D}{\sqrt{n} } }  = \frac{325000-290000}{\frac{145000}{\sqrt{100} } }  = 2.413

<u><em>Step(ii):</em></u>-

The probability that the mean of the sample is greater than $325,000

P( X > 3,25,000) = P( Z >2.413)

                           = 0.5 - A(2.413)

                           = 0.5 - 0.4920

                           = 0.008

<u><em>Final answer:-</em></u>

The probability that the mean of the sample is greater than $325,000

P( X > 3,25,000) = P( Z >2.413) = 0.008
