Answer: 12 hours

Step-by-step explanation: we know a 14cm candle takes 8 hrs until it burns out so a 7cm candle will take 4hrs since it’s cut in half. If we add 7cm more to the candle it’s 21cm which adds 4 more hours to the original 8 hours.

Identify all the lines of symmetry of the following rectangle.
ladessa [460]

The triangle presented in the image has 2 axes of symmetry because it is only possible to divide it 2 times.

<h3>What are axes of symmetry?</h3>

The axes of symmetry are a concept of geometry that are classified into two groups:

  • The plane axis of symmetry: This is an imaginary line that divides a figure into two parts, ensuring that the symmetrical points are at the same distance from it.
  • The axis of axial symmetry: This is the symmetry around an axis, it is a point of translation and rotation in which all the semi-planes taken from a certain perpendicular bisector have identical characteristics.

According to the above, it can be inferred that the rectangle presented in the image has only two axes of symmetry.

What is the range for the following function? y=1/(x+2)+3
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

Answer:

\large \boxed{\text{C) }\{y: y \in \mathbb{R}, y \ne 3\} }

Step-by-step explanation:

The range is the spread of the y-values (minimum to maximum distance travelled).

The graph of your function is a hyperbola shifted two units left and three units up from the origin.

There is a vertical asymptote at x = -2, so y does not exist when x = -2.  However,

\displaystyle \lim_{x \rightarrow -{2}^{+}}f(x) = \lim_{x \rightarrow -{2}^{+}}\left (\dfrac{1}{x+2}+3 \right ) = 0 + 3 = 3\\\\\lim_{x \rightarrow -{2}^{-}}f(x) = \lim_{x \rightarrow -{2}^{-}}\left (\dfrac{1}{x+2}+3 \right ) = 0 + 3 = 3

Since the limit from either side is the same,

\displaystyle \lim_{x \rightarrow -{2}}f(x) = 3

The graph below shows the asymptotes of your function.

Thus. y can take any value  except 3.

In set builder notation, the range is

\large \boxed{\mathbf{\{y: y \in \mathbb{R}, y \ne 3\} }}

Find the measurements of ZBOC.
KengaRu [80]

Answer:

∠ BOC = 40°

Step-by-step explanation:

∠ AOC = 90° , then

5x + 2x + 20 = 90

7x + 20 = 90 ( subtract 20 from both sides )

7x = 70 ( divide both sides by 7 )

x = 10

Then

∠ BOC = 2x + 20 = 2(10) + 20 = 20 + 20 = 40°
