IRINA_888 [86]

ANSWER:

The correct option is "The number of mice decreased".

EXPLANATION:

It is clearly given in the question that the snakes depended on the mice for their survival. The snakes fed on the mice on the field. When the new method of grain spill was found, the mice could not find enough grain to eat and therefore they either left the field or died because of hunger.

`The reduced population of mice was not enough for the snakes which in turn either died or moved to another place for survival.

18.1 multiplying polynomial expressions by monomials
aivan3 [116]

The act of Multiplying a polynomial by a monomial is an easy one. An example of this is given as Multiply x – y – z by -8x².

What are Polynomial Expressions?

Polynomials are regarded as the sums of specific terms of a given form k⋅xⁿ. Here, the k stand for any number and n stand for a positive integer.

To Multiply x – y – z by -8x².

One has to first Multiply each term of the polynomial x – y – z by making use of the monomial -8x².

⟹ -8x² * (x – y – z)

= (-8x² * x) – (-8x² * y) – (-8x² * z)

Note that the * sign connote multiplication.

The next step is to add the like terms together;

The answer therefore is = -8x³ + 8x²y + 8x²z
