By looking at the graph and seeing which point crosses the y axis. This point will always have an x coordinate of zero.

anyways the equation for constant variation is y=kx
3y=6x is it, but we don't want the 3.
so we divide on both sides to cancel out the 3.

n + 14 + n = 35  

2n + 14 = 35  

2n = 35 - 14
