Your answer is 2,200 pupils.

If 990 is equal to 45% of the total amount of pupils, then to find 1% we can divide both 45 and 990 by 45.

990 ÷ 45 = 22, which is 1%, so then we multiply 22 by 100 to get 100% of the pupils, which gives us 2,200.

I hope this helps!

Brooke is located 5 miles out at sea from a straight shoreline in her kayak. She wants to make it to the taco truck on the beach
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer:

x  =  1,2909  ml   (point where Brooke beaches her kayack)

Step-by-step explanation:

I did not find the indicated picture.  I design one  (See picture in Annex)

The route to follow by Brooke  is  x₁   +  x₂ and as we need to express total time.

s  (distance)  =  velocity* time    then     time t  =  distance / velocity

x₁  = √ (5)² + x²        ⇒  x₁  = √( 25 + x² )

and   x₂   =  (  6  -  x  )

x₁  = distance in kayack     ( speed 2 ml/h)

x₂  = distance walking       ( speed  4 ml/h)

Then total time as a function of x is

t(x)   =  √( 25 + x² ) / 2     +   (  6  -  x  ) / 4

Taking derivatives on both sides of the equation we get

t´(x)   =  2x* (2) / 4 *√( 25 + x² )  - 1/4

t´(x)   =  0       2x* (2) / 4 *√( 25 + x² )  - 1/4  = 0      x/√( 25 + x² ) - 1/4  = 0

x/√( 25 + x² )  = 1/4

x    =   √( 25 + x² ) /4

x²   =  (25 + x² ) /16

16*x²   = 25  +  x²

15x²   =  25          x  =  1,2909  ml   (point where Brooke beaches her kayack)

Then  walking distance is   x₂   =  6  - 1.2909    x₂  = 4.71 ml

Write each polynomial in standard form and show your work. <br><br> 2+3x+x^2<br><br> Plz help!
Artyom0805 [142]
The "standard form" of a 2nd order poly is y = ax^2 + bx + c.  Therefore, your 2 + 3x + x^2 in "standard form" is  y = x^2 + 3x + 2.

I’m not sure how to solve this, anyone know?
siniylev [52]

Answer:

A' = (-4, 7)

B' = (3, 5)

C' = (1, 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

The question is asking you to translate the function by adding 4 to the x-value of each point and 2 to the y-value of each point.

I didn't double-check my math, but since the question is asking for an ordered pair, this should be correct.

A tent was marked up 150% from an original cost of $52. Last Friday, Ethan bought the tent and paid an additional 10% in sales t
BARSIC [14]

$143

First you would have to find out the price that the tent was bumped up to.

52*150%=78

You then add the answer to your original price.

52+78=130

You then have to find the sales tax. You do this by multiplying 10% to your new price.

130*10%=13

You then have to add the sales tax to your number.

130+13=143

$143 is your answer.
