A man who is an achondroplastic dwarf with normal vision marries a color-blind woman of normal height. The man's father was 6 fe

et tall, and both the woman's parents were of average height. Achondroplastic dwarfism is autosomal dominant, and red-green color blindness is X-linked recessive. What proportion of their sons would be color-blind and of normal height?

Answer:

Half.

Explanation:

Autosominal dominant trait are express are able to express themselves in the homozygous dominant as well as in the heterozygous condition. The X-linked recessive traits are mostly expressed in males since they have only one X chromosome. Female shows X linked recessive trait when her both X chromosome are affected.

The achandroplastic dwarf man with normal vision is married with a color blind woman with normal height. The mother is affected with vision, she definitely pass this trait to his son. The male is affected with achondroplastic (may be homozygous dominant or heterozygous) and the female is normal (homozygous recessive). The probability can be calculated including both the achandroplastic and vision trait. Half of the males are color blind with normal height (multiplying the probability of vision and achandroplatic trait).

What phrase best defines a star system? a group of hundreds of stars a group of two or more stars a group of stars that formed a
MAVERICK [17]

There are different star systems. Binary star systems consist of two stars. Multiple star systems consist of two or more stars. The meaning of star system is "A small number of stars."

I think it's either A) a group of hundreds of stars, or B) a group of two or more stars. I would assume it's B), but i could be wrong.

Hope this helps!

What are the characteristics of stem cells
gavmur [86]

Answer:

Explanation:

Long-term Self-Renewal: Stem cells are capable of division while remaining unspecialized.

Differentiation : Stem cells can divide asymmetrically, where one stem cell divides into two cells that have different cellular fates.

Induced Pluripotency : Stem cells that have been artificially created from specialized cells are called induced pluripotent stem cells.

Considerations : Due to their unspecialized nature, stem cells have a large research potential. The most pluripotent stem cells derive from the human embryo.
